This App ("the App") is designed specifically for use in educational environments with a strong emphasis on student privacy, minimal data collection, and institutional control. The App is intentionally built to avoid the collection of sensitive student information and to support compliance with applicable student data protection standards.

We do NOT collect:

• Student accounts or login credentials
• Student email addresses
• Student device identifiers
• Biometric data
• Location tracking data
• Behavioral tracking beyond hall pass usage

We may collect limited operational data:

• Optional student-entered name (not required)
• Hall pass activity, such as time out, time returned, and destination
• Teacher-created room identifiers
• Teacher account information, for account holders only

All student-related data is optional and entered manually at the discretion of school staff.

3. Purpose of Data Use

Any collected data is used solely to:

• Facilitate hall pass management
• Provide real-time visibility of students out of class
• Generate reports for school administrative use

We do not use data for:

• Advertising
• Profiling
• Selling or sharing with third parties

4. Data Ownership and Control

All data entered into the App is owned and controlled by the school or educational institution using it.

• Schools have full authority over data usage and retention
• The App acts only as a data processor, not a data owner
• We do not claim ownership of any student-related data

5. Data Retention

• Data is retained only as long as necessary for operational and reporting purposes
• Schools may delete data at any time
• No long-term student profiles are created or maintained

6. Security Measures

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including:

• Secure teacher access via password and/or PIN authentication
• Encrypted data transmission using HTTPS
• Restricted access to stored data

Because the App is designed without student accounts or sensitive identifiers, overall risk exposure is significantly reduced.

7. How We Share Information

We do not sell or rent personal data. We may share limited information only as necessary to operate the App:

a. With Authorized School Personnel:

• Student information (such as hall pass activity and optional names) is visible to teachers and hall monitors associated with the same classroom.
• Names of teachers and hall monitors are visible to other teachers and hall monitors associated with the same classroom.

b. Service Providers:

• Service providers strictly necessary for hosting or infrastructure, bound by contractual obligations.

c. Legal Requirements:

• If required by law or valid legal process.

8. Student Privacy Protections

The App is designed to align with school privacy expectations:

• No student accounts required
• No persistent student identifiers
• Optional, minimal data entry only
• No tracking across devices

These design choices reduce compliance burden for schools and protect student privacy.

9. Compliance with Education Laws

The App is built to support compliance with:

• FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act)
• Applicable state-level student data privacy laws

Schools remain the data controllers and are responsible for determining appropriate use within their own policies.

10. Parental and School Rights

Because the App does not maintain student accounts or comprehensive identifiable student records:

• Schools maintain full control over any entered data
• Parents should contact their school directly regarding any data inquiries
